The New Minimum

The New Minimum is a reincarnation of what started as NEW/ STUFF. I reached an impasse in redesigning NEW/ STUFF, realizing that the typical blog format could not accomplish what I wanted the site to become. I decided to spin the site off into its own entity: enter The New Minimum.

The New Minimum is designed as a periodical, with various sections dedicated to different types of content. The design and code were created to be easily updated, and each new issue includes a Featured Story with new art direction to match. The site is built around a strict grid but not necessarily strict height or width as I anticipate new devices handling scrolling in new, elegant ways.

Generally, I find such terrific content on the web that is, for the most part, done a disservice by the way it is displayed. I was dissatisfied with templated pages and overall lackluster presentation so the goal of this project was to expose that same good content to readers, but in a more compelling manner.
